Confidence Builders - Non-Accredited Short Courses

These confidence builder workshops are non-accredited offerings designed to be hands-on entry points for disengaged students to get back into learning. Focusing on creativity, individual expression, and life skills, these confidence builders are great for helping learners restart their education journey while having fun in a safe and supportive learning environment at the same time.

This training is subsidised by the NSW Government. Eligibility criteria applies.

  • Cooking on a Budget
  • Food Hygiene at Home
  • Read and Interpret Recipes

Across these three different sessions, students will gain fundamental cooking skills to help equip them with healthy and budget friendly habits in the kitchen. As part of this program, students will also be helping cook food that will go towards feeding the homeless. This program is great for any participants who are interested in cooking.

  • Barista Essentials

This course is a less formal version of our accredited Prepare and Serve Espresso course and aims to give participants hands-on experience with the barista machines without getting bogged down in the technical details. On top of getting familiar with the machines, coffee tasting and appreciation is also part of this workshop.

  • Beat It! Music and Movement

In this course, students will unleash their inner rock star through a song writing workshop. They will also develop and strengthen areas such as working effectively in a group and communication skills.

  • Art and Resilience

This is an abstract art project workshop that is focused on building resilience for our students. Like all good abstract art projects, it is messy and unique to the individual. Self-reflection and mindfulness are key areas of this program.

  • Make Up for Occasions

As part of this course, our beauty services team will show participants how to apply make up for occasions such as job interviews. This workshop is filled with tips and tricks that will help students get styled for success.

Training for this course will be delivered face to face at our Ourimbah campus.
