2021 College Nominees

Congratulations to our 2021 Community Education Student of the Year Awards nominees, Kasey Lewis & Malinda Gambrill. Kasey is one of our first year Electrical Apprentices and Work Readiness Program participants who is a true advocate for mature age Apprentices as well as Women in non-traditional trades. Malinda who, as part of re-evaluating her career goals and life aspirations, decided to leave a successful career working within a government agency to follow her passion in beauty services. The Awards ceremony is due to take place as a virtual event throughout February 2022. Best of luck to our nominees.

Business Growth Centre Joins The Family

On July 1 2021, the College took over the running of the Lake Macquarie Business Growth Centre. The BGC was originally established as a not-for-profit Business Enterprise Centre, Business Incubator and Registered Training Organisation, with a purpose to support and grow small and micro businesses in the Lake Macquarie Local Government Area. We look forward to establishing a presence in the Lake Macquarie region and serving this wonderful community.

NSW Training Awards VET Trainer of Year - Erin Jacob

Congratulations to 2021 NSW VET Teacher/Trainer of the Year – Erin Jacob. Erin is a skilled trainer who designs trauma-informed programs for students who’ve experienced hardship. Her innovative Step Forward and Keep on Stepping programs at our College successfully re-engage individuals in learning and facilitate pathways to education and employment. Erin has now been selected as a finalist the Australian Trainer of the Year award, being announced in November 2021.
