Build Your Brand

Your brand is more than just your logo. It includes the vision, values, and “why” of your small business, as well as your visual identity such as colours, logo, imagery, fonts, and more. In this series, you’ll learn about what branding is, why it’s important, and how to develop or refine a consistent brand using the foundations of your small business. You’ll also learn how to build and implement a brand strategy, which will drive your business forward for success.

This training is subsidised by the NSW Government. Eligibility criteria applies.

Course Information

Introduction to Branding

Learn the basics of branding and build on the foundations of your small business. Learn how to refine your brand identity, discover what a brand strategy is and why it’s important, and clarify what it is your customers really want.

Build a Brand Strategy

Breaking down the complex world of creating a brand strategy into manageable segments – this workshop will guide you through the process of creating a brand strategy to clarify your future direction and elevate your small business.

Implement Your Brand Strategy

You now have your brand strategy, but how does that get applied to your business? Learn how to implement your brand strategy in your business operations and use it to make future business decisions.

The Targeted Skills for Small Business program is a NSW Government initiative, established to deliver training for small business owners and employees of small businesses who want to better understand how to use the latest technology and gain up-to-date knowledge to improve their business operations.

Our Small Business Accelerator courses are subsidised by the NSW Government for eligible participants. You may be eligible for fully subsidised training under the Targeted Skills for Small Business program if you are:

  • 15 years old or over
  • no longer at school
  • living or working in NSW (or an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person living in specific NSW border areas); and
  • an Australian citizen, permanent resident, New Zealand citizen, or humanitarian visa holder (or a partner visa holder whose sponsor is a humanitarian visa holder)

To be eligible for subsided training under this program you must:

  • be an owner of a small business, or;
  • be an employee of a small business, or;
  • be an employee of a not-for-profit business

NOTE: A small business is an enterprise with less than 20 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees, or less than 200 FTE employees if the enterprise's primary operation is in a regional or remote location.

    Wednesday 8th May, 10am - 12:30pm

Meet Your Mentor

Martin Scully

Martin Scully is the owner of Newcastle-based branding and design agency, Snapper Studio. An experienced graphic designer and branding expert, Martin has a passion for helping people and businesses develop their branding capabilities and confidence.

Martin has worked with the likes of Ferrari, Major League Baseball, and Michael Jackson, as well as being part of big marketing teams to develop ad campaigns, art directing, and maintaining brands.
