LEAP To Learning Courses
Cooking and Craft: Tuesday 6.00pm – 9.00pm at Ourimbah (alternates each week)
Learn how to prepare and cook healthy meals from scratch, research recipes in books and online, and learn how to put together a shopping list and budget. Get creative trying a whole range of different craft activities such as card making, scrapbooking, painting, sewing, etc. Make things for yourself, to give away as gifts and to sell at a local market.
Social Nights: Thursday 6.00pm – 9.00pm at Woy Woy
Come and have fun with friends on Thursday nights! Every third week we enjoy dining out in the local area and participating in fun activities such as karaoke, trivia nights or listening to live music. In house, learn to play different games such as board games, puzzles or interactive games on the Wii; enjoy themed nights; watch movies and some weeks cook a meal to share!
Dance and Movement: Saturday 9.00am – 12.00pm at Woy Woy
This program is for anyone who loves music and dancing! No experience or skill necessary, you will learn many different styles of dance from hip hop to jazz, African to Bollywood. Have fun moving your body to a wide mix of music, using props and costumes. For those budding performers, there is the opportunity to work on performance choreography and perform in our local community.
Drama / Drumming: Saturday 12.00pm – 3.00pm at Woy Woy (alternates each week)
Have fun with a drum and express yourself through drama on Saturday afternoons! In drumming you will be introduced to easy drum beats, hand movements, clapping and chanting, and experience the joy and upliftment that comes from live percussion. In drama you will develop skills in communication, improvisation and performance through fun games and skits; working towards an end of year performance.
Please note that there will be no changes to students currently enrolled in the above programs under the ICEP funding. However, any new students looking to enrol in these courses will need to contact the College on 02 4348 4300 to discuss the funding arrangements under the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
LEAP to Learning also offers support to students who wish to participate in any of the College’s Leisure and Lifestyle, Vocational or Accredited courses. Please contact the LEAP to Learning Coordinator to discuss how we can help you to join the course you want!
