Tech Savvy Seniors - Introduction to the internet

Tech Savvy Seniors is an initiative of the NSW Ageing Strategy and is funded through a partnership between the NSW Government and Telstra. Classes are FREE for participants aged 60 years and over across NSW and are delivered by the Central Coast Community College.

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?

This workshop is for people who own a mobile or portable device such as a smart phone, tablet/iPad or laptop and want to make safer and better use of the internet

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The internet has become much more user-friendly in recent years, and anybody can access millions of websites, sending emails, shopping and banking online, and much more.

This workshop will include:

  • How to get connected to the internet
  • How to search for and access websites safely
  • Email basics
  • How to shop online
  • How to access government services and banking online

DELIVERY MODE

The workshops will be run face to face at the Tuggerah, Kincumber and Woy Woy Library. Morning Tea will be provided.

WHAT TO BRING TO CLASS?

You will need to bring your own Smartphone, Tablet/iPad or laptop. We will provide wireless internet access.

ABOUT THE TRAINER

Steve has worked in technology and education for over 25 years as a teacher, trainer, technician and consultant. Steve is passionate about the way that technology can empower people of all ages to stay informed, connected and productive.
