Have you ever wanted to create your own game or develop your own application? The first step towards reaching this goal is to learn the fundamentals of coding. Introduction to Programming is delivered right here on the Central Coast and has been designed specifically for beginners in mind.

Introduction to Programming will cover the concepts of machine language, common rules of programming, how to plan and develop a program, write some simple command line programs and create a form based program. Students will also explore some of the programming options to suit your needs.

Learning Outcomes

  • The basic concepts of programming and how computers talk.
  • What platforms and languages are available.
  • How to create simple command line apps with input / output exercise.
  • Conditional exercise (if statements).
  • Iteration exercise (loops).
  • Functions or sub routines.
  • Working with arrays.
  • Some debugging techniques.
  • How to create an app with planning and documentation.
  • Analyse needs and create a flowchart.
  • How to create a form based basic app (in C# or Java).

This course is for students new to programming who would like to know more about apps and how they work.

About The Trainer

Max Connell has worked in IT for over 20 years as an analyst and developing business applications. He has trained students in many aspects of IT, including networks and programming. Max is passionate about technology and how to make a computer work for you.
