Are you new to computers? This short course has been created with you in mind! Introduction to Computers is the starting point to gain confidence in our increasingly technological world.

Delivered right here on the Central Coast, Introduction to Computers covers the basics of working with a computer, including word processing and using the Internet and email, ensuring you leave the course with the skills to use a computer for personal or professional use.

Funding Opportunities

The College is excited to announce that the Introduction to Computers course is being offered under the Adult and Community Education Community Services Obligation (CSO) Program. This funding has been designed to support people who experience barriers to training and employment.

Prior to being accepted into this course under the CSO Program, you will need to contact the College to ask for a finalised eligibility entitlement quotation. From here you will be provided with an enrolment pack, all the forms must be filled out and brought into the College for administration review. Please note that enquiring about the CSO Program does not guarantee you a position within this course.

Learning Outcomes

  • Navigate the operating system and start applications of a computer.
  • Perform basic functions of file management.
  • Perform basic functions in a word processor and spreadsheet.
  • Manage print settings and print documents.
  • Receive and send email.
  • Use a web browser to navigate the Internet.

Who Is This Course For

This course is for students who have little experience using a computer, but would like to learn the basics for professional or personal use.

What To Bring To Class

Please bring a pen, paper and folder to class. All other course resources will be provided for you.
