This course will provide you with the skills needed to become a travel agent, tour operator, retail sales person or receptionist.

Course Duration

This course runs on campus for two days per week for the duration of 20 weeks. At home-study will also apply.

Delivery Mode

This qualification will be delivered face-to-face, through self-paced projects and simulated workplace experiences. Additional individual self-directed learning must be conducted outside of the classroom and students may also be required to complete a minimum of 30 hours work experience in a suitable tourism operation.

Entry Requirements

Students must have successfully completed year 10 (or equivalent), turned 16 or have relevant experience and/or qualifications that indicate likely success in completing the course.

Study Pathways

Graduates may continue their studies by enrolling in SIT30116 Certificate III in Tourism or SIT40116 Certificate IV in Travel and Tourism.

Who Is This Course For?

This course is for students who would like to work in an entry level position within the travel and tourism sector.

Please bring a pen, paper and folder to class. You are required to wear the appropriate attire for this course, including a dress shirt, black pants and enclosed shoes. All other resources will be provided for you.
