Are you interested in working in the hospitality industry? Let our professionals train you to become a qualified barista! Taking students through the coffee making process from crop to cup, our Barista workshop is designed to provide beginners with the knowledge and skills needed to prepare the perfect espresso.

The Barista workshop is delivered on the Central Coast and will give you the opportunity to perform tasks such as grinding beans, frothing milk and pouring a range of coffees, as well as maintaining and cleaning the espresso equipment. Our team of specialists will be there every step of the way, and the combination of classroom and practical exercises means you can graduate with the skills needed to excel in your chosen career.

Who Is This Course For

This course is for students looking to begin their career in the hospitality industry or for current industry workers to gain additional knowledge and skills.

Learning Outcomes

  • Operate a coffee machine correctly
  • Use and set the coffee grinder
  • Foam milk and serve espresso coffee
  • Clean and maintain the coffee machine

Study Pathways

Students who graduate from this course can continue their studies by enrolling in the SIT30616 Certificate III in Hospitality.

Entry Requirements

Students must have successfully completed year 10 (or equivalent), turned 16 or have relevant experience and/or qualifications that indicate likely success in completing the course.
