This course is suitable for students looking to gain an accredited ticket for future work in the construction industry or related trade area.

As part of this course, students will complete the following accredited unit of competency:

• CPCCWHS1001 - Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry

Students must have basic reading and writing skills in order to complete this course. Students must have successfully completed year 10 (or equivalent), turned 16 or have relevant experience and/or qualifications that indicate likely success in completing the course.

Those who meet one of the following categories are NOT eligible to undertake this course:

• Currently enrolled in high school
• Currently undertaking higher education including Certificate II, III, IV, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Bachelors Degree, or higher.

This training is subsidised for eligible students by the NSW Government under the ACE program. Eligibility criteria has been expanded until June 2023, allowing more people to access training opportunities with the College!

Training for this course will be delivered face to face at our Ourimbah, Gateshead, or Rutherford campus.

Students are required to bring a pen, paper and folder to the course. All other resources will be provided for you on the day.

Further study options:

Students who complete this course may continue their studies by enrolling in our Multi-Trade Taster Workshop, or pursue an apprenticeship in Carpentry or a related trade area.

Career prospects:

Students wishing to undertake this accredited ticket may choose a career in the Construction industry or a related trade area.
