Through a combination of theory coursework and practical training, students will learn to:

  • Recommend treatments and products to address specific concerns
  • Provide client consultations, recommend and perform professional facial and body treatments
  • Gain knowledge of skin biology, anatomy and physiology of major body systems to determine suitable treatments
  • Perform a range of body massages including Swedish, lymphatic, stone massage, reflexology and Indian head massage
  • Perform professional microdermabrasion treatments
  • Provide lash, brow and waxing services
  • Design and apply different make-up looks
  • Provide manicure and pedicure services
  • Work safely within salon policy frameworks and health practices

Central Coast Community College

To be eligible to undertake this course, students must:

  • have completed Year 10 (or equivalent, i.e. Certificate II qualification); or
  • be 16 or older; or
  • have relevant experience and/or qualifications that indicate likely success in completing the course

All students wishing to enrol in this course are required to complete an LLN assessment before attending an information session at the Ourimbah campus. This will be facilitated by the Central Coast Community College.

Enrolment information sessions are held prior to course commencement for Student Services and Training staff to assess your application and deem you a suitable fit for enrolment into the training program.

Students MUST attend one of these sessions if they wish to enrol in this course. Students must also complete the online application below before attending an information session.

Required documentation:

Students must ensure they bring the following documentation to the information session so that we are able to give you an accurate finalised quotation.

  • Medicare card
  • ID - Drivers Licence / Proof of Age card
  • Concession - Centrelink card
  • Credit Transfer / Recognition of Prior Learning evidence (if applicable)

Please note - students who identify as having a disability and who are not currently in receipt of the Disability Support Pension (DSP) are required to bring documentary evidence from a verified professional and/or job provider supporting this.

Failure to supply this documentation on the information day, will result in the College being unable to provide you with a finalised quotation and a secure position within this course.

If you are not eligible for a fully funded placement, course fees could come to a total of $2,550 for Subsequent Qualification price.

Note - final course prices will be determined after a full quote is completed for each individual student based on prior learning.

A student who falls into one of the below categories will qualify for fee-free training:

  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person
  • person with a disability
  • dependant child, spouse or partner of a recipient of a Disability Support Pension
  • Refugee or Asylum Seeker (and eligible partners) – for training up to and including Certificate IV
  • recipient of a Fee-Free Scholarship – for training up to and including Certificate IV

Under the Skilling for Recovery Initiative, students who meet the eligibility criteria will also be eligible for fee-free training. For more information on eligibility for fee-free training, please refer to page 30 of the Smart and Skilled Fee Administration Policy.

This course is valued at $14,180 for students who are ineligible for government funding.

Training for this course will be delivered face to face, with some theoretical components to be completed online. Students will attend our Ourimbah campus 3 days per week to undertake training for this course.

Additional Requirements:
Students will need access to a computer or laptop with internet connectivity. Your device must also have camera and microphone capability.

Students must also attend an Information & Enrolment day for this course, which will be held in the lead up to course commencement.
