Looking to kickstart your career in the beauty industry? A Certificate III in Beauty Services is the perfect learning pathway for you to gain the foundation knowledge as well as a practical understanding of a range of beauty treatments and services!

Through a combination of theory coursework and practical training, students will complete the following units of competency:

  • SHBBMUP009 Design and apply make-up

  • SHBBNLS011 Use electric file equipment for nail services 
  • SHBBRES003 Research and apply beauty industry information 
  • SHBXCCS007 Conduct salon financial transactions 
  • SHBXCCS008 Provide salon services to clients 
  • SHBXIND003 Comply with organisational requirements within a personal services environment 
  • SHBXWHS003 Apply safe hygiene, health and work practices 
  • SIRXOSM002 Maintain ethical and professional standards when using social media and online platforms 
  • SIRXSLS001 Sell to the retail customer 
  • SHBBINF002 Maintain infection control standards 
  • SIRXOSM003 Use social media and online tools 
  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid 
  • SHBBMUP008 Apply eyelash extensions 

Central Coast Community College

This course is designed for those looking to enter a career in Beauty Services. To be eligible for this training under the NSW Government's Smart and Skilled program, you must be:

  • 15 years or older at the time of enrolment
  • not currently enrolled in school
  • living or working in NSW
  • an Australian citizen, permanent resident, Humanitarian Visa holder, or New Zealand citizen.

Enrolment information sessions are held prior to course commencement for Student Services and Training staff to assess your application and deem you a suitable fit for enrolment into the training program.

Required documentation:

Students must ensure they bring the following documentation to the information session so that we are able to give you an accurate finalised quotation.

  • Medicare card
  • ID - Drivers Licence / Proof of Age card
  • Concession - Centrelink card
  • Credit Transfer / Recognition of Prior Learning evidence (if applicable)

Please note - students who identify as having a disability and who are not currently in receipt of the Disability Support Pension (DSP) are required to bring documentary evidence from a verified professional and/or job provider supporting this.

Failure to supply this documentation at your enrolment appointment will result in the College being unable to provide you with a finalised quotation and a secure position within this course.

If you are not eligible for a fully funded placement, course fees are as follows:

  • First Qualification - $2,130
  • Second Qualification - $2,550
  • Concession - $240

A student who falls into one of the below categories will qualify for fee-free training:

  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person
  • person with a disability
  • dependant child, spouse or partner of a recipient of a Disability Support Pension
  • Refugee or Asylum Seeker (and eligible partners) – for training up to and including Certificate IV
  • recipient of a Fee-Free Scholarship – for training up to and including Certificate IV

Under the Skilling for Recovery Initiative, students who meet the eligibility criteria will also be eligible for fee-free training. For more information on eligibility for fee-free training, please refer to page 30 of the Smart and Skilled Fee Administration Policy.

This course is valued at $6,700 for students who are ineligible for government funding.

Training for this course will be delivered face to face at our Ourimbah Campus.

Information regarding course dates will be communicated to students who waitlist once a course is scheduled.

Additional Requirements:
Students will need access to a computer or laptop with internet connectivity. Your device must also have camera and microphone capability.

Students must also attend an Information & Enrolment day for this course, which will be held in the lead up to course commencement.
