ACE Eligibility
The ACE Program is funded by the NSW Government to assist learners who need extra support or assistance with their education.
From 1 January 2023, the College has been granted a waiver from the NSW Government, allowing us to expand our eligibility criteria for ACE funded courses until 30 June 2023.
If you meet one or more of the following criteria, you may be eligible for ACE funded training with the College:
- Identify as Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
- Living with a disability, or you are the child, spouse, or partner of someone who has a disability
- acquired brain impairment
- hearing impairment
- intellectual
- physical
- mental illness
- medical condition
- other - English is your second language
- my main language spoken at home is not English
- speaking English is hard for me
- I am finding it hard to study or get a job because of language barriers
- I experience cultural or social barriers
- I am a migrant or refugee - Experiencing difficulty with reading and writing, maths, and/or digital skills that are preventing you from studying or gaining a job
- Receiving a Centrelink benefit or you are the child, spouse, or partner of someone who receives a Centrelink benefit
- age pension

- youth allowance
- disability support pension
- family tax benefit (part A)
- parenting payment (single)
- jobseeker payment
- farm household allowance
- special benefit
- Veterans' affairs pensions
- Veterans' Children Education Scheme
- widow allowance - 15-24 years old, no longer at secondary school, and experiencing barriers to studying or getting a job - registered home school students may apply
- I am homeless
- I experience mental health issues
- I am in out of home care or refuge
- I am in need of special care or support
- I am at risk of abuse or neglect at home - Experiencing significant hardship that can be verified by a government agency, medical professional, or relevant support agency
- I am unemployed
- I am working less than 25 hours per week
- I am homeless
- I have recently left the criminal justice system
- I am at risk of entering the criminal justice system - Experiencing barriers to completing study or enrolling in a course
- I have not achieved year 12 or equivalent
- I am unemployed
- I am working less than 25 hours per week

- I am returning to the workforce after a gap of over 12 months
- I am over 55 years of age and want to re-skill or up-skill
- I am experiencing or have experienced domestic violence, family violence, or coercion
- I am looking to re-skill or up-skill due to COVID-19, industry closure, injury recovery, or mental health issues
- I am recovering from drug/alcohol abuse
